Peak season for the juiciest of summer fruits is finally upon us, and as we gear up for July and August baking, baking and cooking with fresh, ripe peaches is at the top of the to-do list! The thought of peaches summons instant summertime-in-the-country nostalgia: a fruit stand selling baskets of fresh peaches on the side of a rural highway, a fresh baked peach cobbler in Grandma's window sill, biting into the first ripe peach on an afternoon at the beach.
